Loverly: The Life and Times of My Fair Lady
Scheduled by Oxford University Press, USA, for release in the summer of 2012 is the book Loverly: The Life and Times of My Fair Lady by Dominic McHugh. "Using previously-unpublished documents, author Dominic McHugh presents a completely new, behind-the-scenes look at the five-year creation of the show, revealing the tensions and complex relationships that went into its making."--oup.com
"A captivating book due to the tremendous amount of new information supplied in its exciting narrative. While My Fair Lady seems in retrospect like an inevitably perfect musical, McHugh reveals that its creation was fraught with many potential roadblocks and creative differences. A fascinating read!" --Michael Feinstein
"Dominic McHugh has written a fine authoritative study of one of the world's greatest musicals. Anyone with an interest in the detailed history of the creation of My Fair Lady must read this book."--Liz Robertson, widow of Alan Jay Lerner

This is where I stayed the last time I went to New York. I was very happy with the hotel and its location.

C(h)oeurs
It looks silly and stupid to me. Simplistic ideas, and people dancing around in their underwear.

New York Times
Are grammar and spelling becoming sloppy in the New York Times? Aren't the major newspapers supposed to have an editorial process that helps to make them somehow better than blogs? Anthony Tommasini's review of Wagner's Götterdämmerung at the Metropolitan Opera says, "Instead of continually twisting into different contortions, as in earlier installments, the set remained stationery during extended scenes." Was the set made from envelopes and staples? And at one point "Ms. Voigt's character lashes out at Siegfried, whom she thinks has betrayed her . . ." "Whom" of course should be nominative "who" as subject of verb "has betrayed." She thinks he has betrayed her, not she thinks him has betrayed her!
